Saudi Aramco has started receiving bids from international firms for the construction of the process packages of its Shaybah natural gas liquids (NGL) project, Reuters has reported, citing industry sources. The project is one of two new gas projects the state oil giant plans to develop as it needs to boost gas output to meet rising domestic demand. Shaybah NGL, estimated to cost $5bn-$6bn, is designed to process 2.4 billion cubic feet per day (cfd) of low-sulphur sweet gas and extract.
