Biography: Arash Aghdam is the director for rail and transit at Parsons Brinckerhoff based in Dubai. Aghdam has held this position since January 2012. He was previously regional director of rail and transit at Aecom, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of rail and transit projects throughout the Mena region.
Before this, Aghdam was based in London, working as the director of rail and metro for US consultancy firm Louis Berger Group, with responsibility for developing projects in Europe and the Middle East. He has worked on rail projects in various countries, including the North-South Railway in Saudi Arabia and the Kuala Lumpar light rail transit in Malaysia.
Aghdam graduated with a degree in engineering from Imperial College London, before completing a doctorate in engineering from Nottingham University in the UK in 1986.
