Arcapita finalises $1.3bn Singapore property deal

02 July 2008
Arcapita, the Bahrain-based investment firm, has finalised a deal with Singapore-based Mapletree Investments to become joint venture partners on the latter's $1.3bn property portfolio.

Under the terms of the deal, Arcapita will own 56.5 per cent of Mapletree Industrial Trust (MIT). Mapletree Investments will own 25.1 per cent and will continue to manage the portfolio. Another private pan-Asian real estate fund will own the remainder of MIT.

The deal is Arcapita’s first in Singapore after establishing an office there earlier this year.

The property portfolio includes factories, business parks and warehouses.
