16 July 2004
Plans are taking shape at the local ETA Asconfor the construction of two mixed-use towers at the Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) development in Dubai. The work, to be carried out by the group's construction arm, Associated Construction & Investments Company (Ascon), will require investment of AED 150 million-180 million ($40.9 million-$49.1 million) and calls for the construction of a 35-storey and a 40-storey tower with a combined built-up area of 2 million square feet.

Construction work on the smaller tower is due to begin in late 2004 or early 2005 and is scheduled for occupation by the end of 2007. Work will begin on the 40-storey development in mid-2005, with occupation scheduled for mid-2008. The consultant on the project is Dubai-based Design Architecture Bureau (Dar).

Ascon began work in June on a six-storey residential tower on another ETA Ascon project, in Dubai Marina. The development, worth AED 30 million ($8.2 million), will have a built-up area of 125,000 square feet. Excavation on the site is complete and occupation is scheduled for early 2005. The consultant on the project is the local Archon Engineering Consultants.
