Contractors now have until 27 July to submit bids for works on Najma Road
Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has extended the submission date for a contract for construction works on the Najma road in Doha until 27 July.
The tender has a bid bond of QR17m ($4.7m).
The submission deadline for bids has now been extended twice. The original submission date for the work was 18 May, and this had been extended to 29 June.
The project will involve the reconstruction of the Najma road extension from its junction with the E ring road to just before the F ring road. The works also include the construction of surrounding main and internal roads.
The winning contractor will also have to re-design and build the adjoining road known as E01.
The work involves the construction of the package seven part of the Doha Expressway, together with work on the second phase of the Salwa road.
The Doha Expressway is party of Qatar’s plans to invest $20bn on new roads and related drainage and infrastructure in the next five years. The investment in the country’s transport infrastructure is being carried out to address congestion in Doha (MEED 3:6:10).
