Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Asghal) has invited firms to bid by 14 November for the contract to procure, construct and commission a 7.2km deep surface water and ground water conveyance sewer network in the country’s Zone 55, which runs along Sailiya and Al-Hamm streets.
The scope of works includes the survey, procurement, construction, test and commissioning of 7.2km of deep sewer constructed using trenchless methods and flow control chambers.
The scope also includes connecting the sewer network to other similar packages; relocation and protection or extension of water, electricity, gas and telecoms utilities; and the provision of all temporary works including traffic control works.
The project also calls for a maintenance period of 400 days.
According to MEED Projects data, an estimated $26bn-worth of road and street projects are under way in Qatar, excluding the over $10bn-worth of tunnel packages for the under-construction Doha Metro.
Another $15.4bn-worth of road projects are under procurement in Qatar.
