UK firm to deliver study on network upgrade in 2011
A team of the UK’s Atkins and the local SSH International has signed a wastewater masterplan contract with Kuwait’s Public Works Ministry.
Under the multi-million-dollar contract, Atkins will develop a national strategy to upgrade the sewage network, covering an area of 17,818 square kilometres. The company is scheduled to submit its study and proposals to the ministry in December 2011.
Atkins has already completed the Kuwait Public Transport Masterplan.
The firm is also responsible for the design and programme management of civil work on the Dubai Metro Red Line and Green Line. It is carrying out architectural and infrastructure design on phase 3 of the Durrat al-Bahrain real estate development in Bahrain.
