Samer Majali, Gulf Air's new CEO, should work on reducing losses at the kingdom's national flag carrier, but avoid laying off nationals in large numbers, Bahraini MPs as saying. "Some jobs will have to be cut as well, there's no doubt about that," Jassim Husain Ali, a member of parliament's financial and economic affairs committee told Reuters. But laying off Bahrainis, except those close to retirement age, would not be accepted by public opinion, he has added.
