Award expected this month on piling contract for Bahrain Financial Harbour

Award expected in mid-September for BFH project

An award is expected in mid-September on a BD 500,000-750,000 ($1.3 million-2 million) contract to carry out piling work on the Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH) project. The work will begin on completion of phase-1 reclamation work, covering infill of 50,000 cubic metres of the old Manama harbour, which is being carried out by the local Tamdec (MEED 8:8:03).

Tamdec’s contract is 60 per cent complete. The initial reclamation will provide a sufficient platform for construction of the initial infrastructure on the development - the financial mall and harbour house.

BFH is assessing how the remainder of the reclamation work on the development is to be tendered. The local ReMoonand Ahmed Abubaker Janahi Architectsare handling the estimated $1,000 million project on behalf of the client, Gulf Finance House.
