Award nears on Ras Laffan

15 November 2007
An award is imminent on the world-scale petrochemicals complex at Ras Laffan, planned by Qatar Petroleum and the US’ ExxonMobil Chemical Company, following final clarification meetings with the three bidders.

Foster Wheeler and Fluor Corporation, both of the US, and Australia’s WorleyParsons with the US’ Jacobs Engineering, submitted their final revised proposals in mid-October. Technical evaluation is complete, and the two clients are now due to select the successful consultant.

The co-ordination and construction services package covers project management of the scheme and some engineering works (MEED 21.9.07).
