Bahrain International Airport plans to open two new terminals in the next four years as part of a $4.7bn expansion of the facility, Gulf Daily News has reported. The expansion, planned over the next 30 years, will triple the passenger capacity at the airport to 27 million a year. Terminal Two will be commissioned by 2012 and Terminal 1A will become operational a year later, Bahrain Airport Company chief executive officer Dr Osama Alali told the paper.
