Consultants line up for coastal resort
Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah) has received bids from three architectural firms for masterplanning and concept design work on its proposed Al-Jazayer Beach development.
The bidders are UK-based RMJM with a price of BD198,100 ($525,604); Atkins, also of the UK, at BD295,000; and US-based Smith & Gill at BD372,332.
Edamah will build the project on 1.4 square kilometres of government land in the southern governorate.
The Bahraini developer wants the project to look like Miami Beach.
The government established Edamah in 2007 to manage its real estate properties and land in Bahrain.
