Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has received bids from four consultancy firms for the contract to develop the National Solid Waste Strategy.
The UK’s Mott Macdonald submitted the lowest price of BD157,794 ($418,781) for the consultancy deal. Kuwait’s KEO International submitted the second lowest proposal of BD174,761.

Bahrain has one of the highest waste per person levels in the GCC, with more than 1.2 million tonnes of solid waste generated each year.
