Seven firms submit bids for consultancy deal
The Bahrain Airport Company (Bac) has received bids for the consultancy contract for the project to expand the existing terminal at Bahrain International Airport.
Bac received bids from seven consultants in December for the contract to provide consultancy services for the construction phase of the terminal expansion project.
The bidders are:
- Baker Wilkins & Smith (BWS) (UK)
- Rauf Al-Mannai (local)
- Davis Langdon (UK)
- Hisham A Jaffar (local)
- DG Jones & Partners (UAE)
- KEO International Consultants (Kuwait)
- David Adamson & Partners (UK)
The first construction package on the project to expand the existing terminal at Bahrain International airport is expected to be tendered by March 2012 (MEED 22:7:11).
In June last year, Lebanon’s Dar al-Handasah a BD4.5m ($11.9m) was awarded a BD4.5m ($11.9m) design contract for the expansion project.
The expansion of the existing terminal will boost the capacity to 15 million passengers a year from the current 9 million. The work will involve building new retail facilities, four or five new contact gates, nine remote gates and 40 more check-in counters.
