Bahrain receives offers for solar operations and maintenance deal

The kingdom has set a target for 35 per cent of its energy requirements to be met by renewables by 2035

Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) has received proposals for an operations and maintenance (O&M) services deal on its pilot solar distributed energy project.

The lowest bid of BD253,352 ($673,808) was submitted by the local Bahrain Services & Maintenance Company. The local Kartec Services submitted the second lowest bid of BD283,500. The local Green Innova Transfer submitted the third lowest proposal of BD527,827.

The Bahrain Distributed Solar Energy Pilot Project (BDSEPP) has involved the installation of solar panels installed at Bapco Refinery, Awali Township and the University of Bahrain. Solar panels have bene installed as car park shades, roof-top installations and have been installed on street light poles and ground mounted installations.
