Bahrain has delayed plans to establish an independent ministry of tourism in the country because the economic crisis has left the government strapped for cash to support it, reported The National. The proposed ministry, which was to open in April, would have acted as a promotional body for the tourism sector, which officials expect will contribute 25% to the country's GDP by 2016.
