Eight firms bid for contract to carry out civils work for nine substations
The local M&I Construction has submitted the lowest bid for an Electricity & Water Authority contract to build civil engineering infrastructure for nine 66kV substations in Bahrain. The company bid BD3.8m ($10m) for the work.
The contract covers civils works for substations at Nakhl el-Louzi, Safala, Iskan Salmabad, Sahel al-Hidd, Jabla, Habshi, Al-Malikiya, Khor al-Qalia and Al-Wasmia.
M & I was one of eight companies to bid for the project.
Poullaides Construction bid BD3.9m and Olympic Contracting Company, both local, submitted a price of BD4.1m, followed by Cyprus’s Charialos Apostolides with BD4.7m and Saudi Arabia’s International Centre Company for Commerce Contracting at 4.74m.
The local Nass Contracting bid BD4.8m and Ahmed Mansoor al-Aali, also local, priced the work at BD5.39m. Cebarco Bahrain was the highest bidder at BD5.4m.
