Saudi Aramco has awarded US-based Baker Hughes, a GE Company (BHGE) a major integrated service contract at its 500,000 barrel a day (b/d) Marjan oil field.
Aramco released a statement saying that BHGE would “commence work this month with an aim to increase the field’s capacity.”
BHGE will provide drilling services, coiled tubing services and drilling fluids engineering services at the Marjan field.
MEED reported in August that Aramco had tendered three offshore oil and gas packages that form part of the project to expand and increase capacity from the Marjan field. The regional project-tracking service MEED Projects has estimated that the three projects have a combined value of $1.4bn.
