Dutch company to carry out work on shallow-water oil field development in Abu Dhabi
Netherlands-based Bam International has been awarded a 70m ($88m) contract to build marine infrastructure works for the third-phase expansion of the Al-Dabbiya oil field in Abu Dhabi.
The contract was awarded by project owner Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco) and is expected to be completed in September 2015.
The scope of work covers five offshore clusters comprising channel dredging, reclamation works, construction of a causeway, shore protection, a heliport, pontoons and fences. The construction also involves an additional offshore cluster including a boat quay, a pontoon and a heliport.
Adco is assessing bids for the main engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract on the Al-Dabbiya phase 3 project, after receiving commercial proposals in the third quarter of 2014.
