Basra bombing kills three

A bomb blast in the southern city of Basra on 11 November killed three Iraqis. The men died when their minibus was hit by a roadside bomb, said a UK military spokesman. British troops cordoned off the area. The road on which the bombing took place is frequently used by UK troops stationed in the area.

US officials in Iraq announced on 11 November that they are holding 20 suspected Al-Qaeda fighters captured in the country. The commander of US forces in Iraq, Ricardo Sanchez, said he believed the men were responsible for some of the recent attacks against coalition forces.
