Behbehani wins Kuwait International Airport deal

27 November 2007
The local Syed Hamid Behbehani & Sons Company has won a KD10.7m ($38m) contract to build control and meteorology centres at Kuwait International Airport.

The scheme is aimed at improving operating performance and meeting international aviation standards (MEED 13:4:07).

It is part of the estimated $300m Kuwait airspace system plan to upgrade the state’s aviation infrastructure. In September, Germany’s Siemens was awarded a $108m contract to upgrade electrical infrastructure at the airport as part of the airspace plan (MEED 21:9:07).

The client on the packages is the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
