Biography: Ekstrand was appointed group president in January 2013 having previously held the position of group vice president for Asia Pacific.

Ekstrand is responsible for the overall implementation of the Group’s five-year strategic plan, Vision Z: Global Performance. He will also oversee the continuing growth of GAC’s six geographical regions: Middle East, Asia Pacific, Indian subcontinent, Africa, Russia & Central Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Ekstrand was group vice president, Asia Pacific, from 2009, accountable for the effective and profitable management of the GAC companies in the region. Before 2009 he was regional director for the Middle East for more than six years.

Ekstrand joined GAC in 1992, working in several stations in the Gulf area before taking on his regional responsibilities.
