Bid deadline extended for Kuwaiti hospital

25 May 2008
The deadline for bids for the Jaber al-Ahmed al-Sabah hospital in Kuwait has been extended.

The closing date for tenders was 27 May, but this has now been pushed back a month to 29 June.

It represents the second time the deadline has been pushed back, with the original closing date of 9 April extended following requests by contractors bidding for the work, due to the size of the project. According to one contractor bidding for the project, a further extension of one month is expected.

The hospital, which will have 1,050 beds, is located in South Surra and will be the largest hospital in the state when it is completed in 2011.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works is the client.

The local/US team of Gulf Consult and Langdon Wilson is the design consultant (MEED 19:01:08).
