Abu Dhabi refiner delays technical bid date by more than two weeks to 10 May
Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer) has extended the deadline for bids on the contract to build a flare gas recovery system at its refinery in Ruwais.
Interested companies have now been asked to submit technical bids for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by 10 May, according to a source close to the bidding process. The previous deadline was 23 April.
Twelve companies have prequalified for the estimated $150m contract to build a system to reduce the volume of gas flared at the Ruwais refinery in Abu Dhabi. The scheme will reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide and increase domestic natural gas supplies.
Takreer, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), is currently expanding the Ruwais refinery, adding 400,000 barrels a day (b/d) of new capacity.
