Bid deadlines loom for Abu Dhabi nitrogen pipeline

Commerical bids in by end of August

Technical bids for the construction of a nitrogen gas pipeline from Mifra to Ruwais in Abu Dhabi will be submitted at the end of July, with commercial bids to follow a month later.

The pipeline will be 16 inches in diameter and stretch over 75 kilometres, starting at the Elixier production facility in Ruwais, a joint venture between German chemical producer Linde and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) to gas processing facilities in Ruwais.

The following companies are amongst those prequalified by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (Gasco), which is tendering the project:

  • Alsa Engineering & Construction (local)
  • Consolidated Contractors Company (Athens-based)
  • C.A.T Group (Luxembourg-based)
  • Dodsal (local)
  • Galfar Engineering & Contracting (Oman)
  • Larsen & Toubro (India)
  • Punj Lloyd (India)
  • Saipem (Italy)

After the technical bids are submitted, the commercial bids will go in on 23 August.
