New deadline set for companies looking to carry out gas unit overhaul at Al-Ahmadi refinery
State oil refiner Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has pushed back the deadline for bids to upgrade pressure systems for gas units at its Al-Ahmadi refinery.
Bids now have to be in by 11 August in order to give two local contractors, Almeer and Al-Rashed, the chance to submit prices. Previously companies were told the bid submission date was 13 July.
The budget for the project is approximately $100m and company that wins the contract will be expected to install the following elements:
- Anti-surge control system
- Analysers
- Burner management system
- Flame scanner system
- Replacement of KV valves
- Field instruments
- Cables
- Strainers
The tender for the main contract was originally issued on 21 April 2013 and was eventually cancelled. It was then reissued in April and 37 companies prequalified to bid on the project.
