Bids due for Haweel pipeline

Eight contractors were due to submit technical offers on 29 September for the construction of the Haweel cluster pipeline project. The prospective bidders are India's Dodsal, Al-Hassan Engineering Company, Oman Construction Company (TOCO), Arabian Industries, Oman Steel Fabricators & Mechanical Company, Galfar Engineering & Contracting, Special Technical Services, and GPS, all local. Commercial offers are due to be submitted in November via an e-bid.

The scope of works covers the installation of 67 kilometres of 12-inch and 33 kilometres of eight-inch pipeline to convey gas and condensate from the Haweel wellfields into the gas network of Petroleum Development Oman. The selected contractor will also install pigging stations at various points along the pipeline.

Granherne & Companyof the US has completed the front-end engineering and design (FEED) work. A tender is due out in January for the main facilities package including gas booster compression stations. Total project costs for the pipeline are estimated at $10 million-15 million.
