Bids were opened on 9 October. The bidders are Saudi Cable Company, Taihan Electric Wire and LS Cable, both of South Korea. The client is the Electricity & Water Authority (EWA).
The project is part of Bahrain’s plans to upgrade and expand its transmission network. Ireland’s ESB International is acting as the consultant to EWA on its project to upgrade the 220kV and 66kV systems.
ESB International also submitted the only bid for consultancy work associated with the development of a 400-kV transmission network in late September (MEED 3:10:08).
