Bids have been opened from 10 companies for the contract to build a bulk liquids terminal at Sohar port. The estimated RO 5 million ($12.8 million) contract calls for construction of a loading platform, breasting and mooring dolphins with connecting catwalks, fender piles to berths C1 and B and approach and pipe trestles with pile bents and bank seats. The client is the Transport & Communications Ministry (MEED 1:10:04).

In late October, Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC)signed the contract to construct the port infrastructure.
