Bids in for naval jetty at Ras Musandam

Six Construct is the low bidder at $16.3m

OmanBelgium’s Six Constructis the low bidder for the contract to build a naval jetty and associated facilities at Ras Musandam. The company submitted a base price of RO 6.2 million ($16.3 million) for the project. Contractors were asked to quote for two options based on a variation to the project’s electrical and mechanical specification.

Three other contractors bid for the work with prices ranging up to RO 8.9 million ($23.4 million). The basic scope of works covers the construction of a jetty pier dredged to a depth of 12 metres and support buildings, including a small power generation plant. A team of the UK’s Halcrowwith the local Ibn KhaldunConsulting Engineersis the consultant (MEED 13:6:03; 11:4:03).
