Bids in for OAG

At least four companies submitted technical bids by 11 April for the first engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract on the offshore associated gas (OAG) project in Abu Dhabi emirate. The bidders include Paris-based Technip, India's Larsen & Toubro, Abu Dhabi-based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and the local Dodsal. No deadline has been set for commercial bids (MEED 9:12:05).

Called package 3, the contract covers the supply and installation of a 30-inch-diameter, 98-kilometre-long land pipeline from Ras al-Qila to Habshan for processing. Technical bids for packages 1 and 2 are due to be submitted on 20 May. Package 1 will cover the supply and installation of compressor and booster stations, dehydration units and facilities on Das island for the separation and treatment of bulk natural gas liquids (NGL) recovered from offshore gas. Package 2 will supply and instal a 30-inch, 117-kilometre offshore pipeline from Das island to Ras al-Qila. The client for package 1 is Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (Adgas). Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Company (Gasco) is handling packages 2 and 3. The scheme is targeted for completion by the second quarter of 2008. Australia's WorleyParsons is the project management consultant (PMC).
