Bids in for Oman justice ministry building

Bids have been received for the construction of a Ministry of Justice building in Sohar, Oman.

The local Al-Bady Trading & Contracting is the low bidder with OR9m ($23m). Other bidders included Galfar Engineering & Contracting, Durat al-Sahil and Towell al-Zawraa Engineering Service, all local. Al-Qasim Trading & Contracting made the highest bid at OR13m.

The local National Engineering Bureau is the consultant on the project. The Ministry of Justice is the client.

The ministry also recently issued a tender for a new government building in Muscat. The project will cover the construction of a new court in the capital, with an estimated value of OR10m. Eight firms have so far purchased the tender document. The closing date for bids is 23 June (MEED 1:6:08).
