Its offer is about3 per cent lower than the next quote of AED 464 million ($126 million) submitted by Ed Zueblinof Germany. Seven companies priced the contract by 27 October.
The contract will cover the construction of a new 600-metre-long quay wall, with an alongside depth of 17 metres, 14 buildings and related civil works. The project will also entail the installation of about eight new rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) and ship-to-shore cranes and computerisation of the port's operations. About 40 per cent of the proposed investment will be for the supply and installation of cranes.
The consultant is US-based Frederic R Harris; the client is Abu Dhabi's Works Department.
