Three companies respond to district cooling tender
Seera City Real Estate Development Company has opened bids for a contract to install district cooling facilities at Medina Knowledge Economic City.
Bids were submitted by Saudi Arabia’s City Cool, France’s Dalkia and Saudi Tabreed. The bids will be evaluated and a decision is expected by the end of this year
The winning bidder will install 35,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) initially, which will be stepped up to 274,000TR at full capacity.
Medina Knowledge Economic City was unveiled in June 2006 by King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. The project, which is reportedly worth SR30bn ($7bn) and is intended to promote the development of Saudi Arabia’s businesses and entrepreneurs.
