Four firms have submitted bids for the scheme in the East Riffa area.

The firms, all local, are the Hafeera Group, Down Town Construction Company, Al-Hasanain Company and Ahmed Mansoor al-Aali.

Down Town Construction Company was the low bidder with BD12.6m ($33m). This was followed by Al-Hasanain with BD12.8m and Ahmed Mansoor al-Aali with BD14.5m.

The Ministry of Works is the client.

In early January, Down Town Construction Company was awarded a $11.5m contract for the infrastructure work on the Downtown Al-Areen project in Bahrain (MEED 30:01:08).
