Bids submitted for Saudi university

Bids have been submitted for a university building at Taibah University, near Medina, with an award expected in July.

The contract, which covers the construction of a structure to join the existing buildings, is valued at SR450m ($120m).

At least three local contractors have submitted bids, including Al-Harbi, Al-Khalerije and Al-Redwan Contracting Company.

The contract is expected to be awarded in July. The Education Ministry is the client.

Bids were also submitted in May for construction work at two more universities in the kingdom, King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah and Al-Imam Mohamed ibn Saudi Islamic University in Riyadh.

The contract for the Jeddah project involves the construction of two buildings on the university campus and is valued at SR120m. In Riyadh, the SR400m contract covers the construction of a women’s college and an adjacent car park (MEED 14:05:08).
