The General Organisation for Cement & Building Materials (GOCBM) is evaluating bids for two 15-year build-operate-transfer (BOT) contracts to invest in and upgrade five cement plants. Awards are expected to be made by the end of May. Bidders for both contracts include France's Lafarge, Egypt's Orascom Construction Industries, Italy's Italcementi and Jeddah-based Arabian Cement Company (MEED 17:3:06).
