The local/Turkish Bin Beilala Baytur Internationalhas been awarded the estimated AED 400 million ($109 million) main construction package for the Au and Ag buildings at Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT). The towers will join the 360-metre-high Almas tower in the Dubai Metals & Commodities Centre. The client on all three buildings is the local Nakheel(MEED 18:11:05).
Contractors tendering for the project were given the option of submitting bids for each tower individually, or submitting a bid for both as one overall package. The other bidders for the project were: Oger Dubai, the local subsidiary of Saudi Oger; and the local Dhabi Contracting Company. The UK's Faithful & Gouldis the project manger; the local office of KEO International Consultantsis the design consultant. Abu Dhabi-based Sefi Fontechas completed the piling works. Bids are due at the end of the year for two other Nakheel towers at JLT called Falcon and Flamingo. Both towers are residential and will be 40 storeys high. Faithful & Gould is the project manager. The local Dutch Foundationsis carrying out the piling, shoring, excavation and dewatering works.
