Boodai bids low for Bneid

19 September 2003
The local Boodai Construction Company has submitted a low bid of KD 8.9 million ($29 million) for the Bneid al-Gar sewerage project in Kuwait City. Its offer is about 10 per cent lower than the next price of KD 9.8 million ($32 million) offered by Mushrif Trading & Contracting Company, also local.

Eleven local companies submitted bids in early September. The 20-month contract calls for the renovation of about 20 kilometres of existing lines at Bneid al-Gar, 13 kilometres of micro-tunnelling and related works. The consultant is a team of the US' Parsons Engineering Corporation with the local Gulf Consult.

The client is the Ministry of Public Works (MEED 12:9:03).
