The offshore unit of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc Offshore) has received commercial bids from local and foreign engineering contractors for the installation of 3 jackets at its Dalma gas field.

According to regional projects information provider MEED Projects, the following specialist offshore contractors have submitted bids for the job, the scope of which includes the procurement, construction, fabrication and installation works of the three jackets:

• National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), Abu Dhabi
• Valentine Maritime Limited, Abu Dhabi
• McDermott, USA
• Petrofac, UK
• TechnipFMC, France
• Larsen & Toubro (L&T), India

All the above contractors had been pre-qualified by Adnoc Offshore to bid for the work, including Italy’s Saipem which has not submitted a tender.

The main contract for the work can be awarded as early as this month, as per MEED Projects, with the project slated to be completed by 2020-end. The budget value for the project is estimated to be $150m.

In October last year, TechnipFMC was awarded the front-end engineering design (Feed) contract for the jacket installation job at the Dalma project.

Separately, TechnipFMC had also won a Feed contract from Adnoc Sour Gas in January this year for the Dalma gas field.

Adnoc has undertaken a project for the development of the Dalma gas field, along with the Hail and Gasha offshore sour gas fields, to meet its Vision 2030 objective of achieving sustained and economic gas production to power the UAE economy.

The field is located to the west of Abu Dhabi’s offshore territory in the Gulf’s waters near the Dalma island.
