Abu Dhabi-based Chiyoda CCC Engineering Limited (CCEL), a joint venture of Greece's Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) and Japan's Chiyoda, has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Adnoc Offshore, the offshore arm of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
The scope of work is the engineering design, procurement and construction of a capacity enhancement at Adnoc Offshore’s oil handling facilities on Zirku Island, located some 140km northwest of Abu Dhabi island.
The enhancement work is expected to support the Upper Zakum offshore (UZ750) project, and includes the addition of a new oil processing train and plant, common utilities and control room upgrade and modifications at Zirku.
MEED has learnt that the contract value of the project is $400m.
The project is to be completed on a fast track basis, and is expected to be handed over in 2020.
The other bidders competing for the contract were Saipem (Italy), Tecnicas Reunidas (Spain), Hyundai Engineering & Construction (South Korea) and Petrofac (UK).
