India’s Bridge & Roof Company has won the KD2.4m ($8.6m) contract to build a new storage tank at gathering centre 1 for state upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company.
The contractor was expected to win the contract after submitting the low bid for the lump-sum contract in 2007 (MEED 12:10:07).
The 18-month contract covers the construction of a new 65,000-barrel oil storage tank, the demolition of the existing crude storage and brackish water tanks, and associated works.
