Bright Start for Dubai Contracting

Local property developer Bright Start Holdingshas selected Dubai Contracting Company (DCC)for the contract to build the Bright Start tower on Sheikh Zayed highway. Valued at AED 312 million ($85 million), the contract calls for the construction of a 61-storey tower comprising 407 apartments, a multi-storey car park and leisure facilities. Located just after the Defence roundabout, the total built-up area will be 99,800 square metres.

At least five other companies bid for the 24-month contract, including the local Arab Technical Construction Company (Arabtec) and the local/Australian Nasa Multiplex.

The local APCC completed the piling and excavation works in late September. The UK's Atkinsdrew up the tower's designs and is the lead consultant. Bright Start Holdings is a local property developer and investment holding firm. The client is a private investor (MEED 20:8:04).
