Bu Haleeba takes creek hotel contract

The local Bu Haleeba Contractinghas been awarded the estimated AED 200 million ($54.4 million) contract to build a new five-star hotel at the Dubai Creek, Golf & Yacht Club. The 15-month contract centres on the construction of a 238-room hotel, a club lounge and related facilities over 25,027 square metres. Seven other contractors were competing for the job (MEED 13:2:04).

The project is being carried out in three packages. The local Convrgnt Value Engineeringis carrying out the work for package 2, which covers the construction of 92 villas and related facilities under an AED 90 million ($24 million) contract.

Package 3, which covers the expansion and maintenance of the existing golf course, will be tendered separately. The lead consultant is South Africa's Mirage Mille Leisure & Development; the architect is DSA Architects International (South Africa).
