The local Burgan Company for Well Drilling Trading & Maintenance has won a $100m contract for the supply of a 3,000HP deep drilling rig for operations across the state.
The five-year contract, signed on 31 December, also covers the supply of personnel to operate the rig.
The client is state upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).
Burgan focuses on providing drilling and maintenance services to oil and gas companies. It was set up in 1970 and listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange in December 2005.
