Bus passengers up 15% in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi's Department of Transport (DoT) has recorded a 15% rise in the number of bus users in the emirate so far this year, compared with the same period last year, Khaleej Times has reported. Buses have transported 64 million passengers in 2011, a 10.34% rise from 58 million in 2010, Saeed Al Hameli, general manager of the Bus Office in the DoT told the daily. "Aroximately, we transport some 145,000 passengers per day in the emirate, including Al Ain and Western Region," Al Hameli said.
