MEEDs Deputy Editor Colin Foreman outlines the projects that have entered the market across the region
Its been a quieter week on the political front, but theres still been quite a lot to report on, says MEEDs Deputy Editor Colin Foreman.
The summer months are traditionally a quiet period for project activity, with people going on vacation, one of them being King Salman of Saudi Arabia. But before the ruler went on holiday, the Saudi cabinet approved the nuclear project, which is an important development. The government has been talking about developing nuclear power for quite some time and this approval means the project has finally been given the green light.
Among the other projects to enter the market are two tall towers in the Dubai Marina area, as well as the largest building contract ever to be tendered in the region the shopping mall at the Dubai Creek Harbour.
Meanwhile, contractors have been shying away from risk, says Foreman. Watch his round-up to find out more.
