The New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) has invited six groups to submit bids by 29 October for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract covering the power island on the integrated solar/combined cycle (ISCC) power plant in Kureimat.
The New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) has invited six groups to submit bids by 29 October for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract covering the power island on the integrated solar/combined cycle (ISCC) power plant in Kureimat.

The invitees are: Sumitomo Corporation of Japan, with Samsung Corporation of South Korea; Italy?s Ansaldo Energia; Germany?s Siemens; Spain?s Abengoa; Kawasaki Plant Systems, with Toyota Tsusho Corporation, both of Japan; and Spain?s Iberdrola Ingeniera y Construccion, with Japan?s Mitsui & Company.

The plant will include a 120-MW combined cycle and a 30-MW solar power plant. The integrated plant will be the first to be run by NREA.

Technical clarifications are under way at NREA for the lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) contract to design and build a 120-MW wind farm in Zafarana. The bidders are Spain?s Gamesa Energia, Italy?s Vestas Italia and Japan?s Mitsubishi Corporation (MEED 25:8:06).
