Biography: Carmen Karam was appointed chair of the Disaster Management & e-Health Working Group at Asia Pacific Networking Group in 2009.

She is also a projects coordinator for Etisalat. From October 2009-February 2010, Karam was the special projects manager for the Internal Trade Development Authority of the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry. Karam also has experience as a business development manager in Egypt, working for a US company providing mobile payment, telecommunication, internet marketing, software and mobile software development services.

In 2008, she was the Middle East’s regional administration officer for the International Union against Tuberculosis & Lung Disease. Prior to this, she was the business development manager for IT solutions provider Netsense Middle East & Europe.
