The firm will have to supply ground services for the airport expansion
UAE-based Cavotec Middle East signed a $40m deal on 6 April with the Bahrain Airport Company (Bac) to develop ground support equipment at Bahrain International Airport.
The turnkey project will involve the firm integrating in-ground systems for remote aircraft aprons at Bahrain airport. These systems include transformer substations, power supply systems, a vacuum evacuation system, a blue water supply system and a potable water supply system.
The work is expected to be complete by February 2011.
Bac is currently executing a $4.7bn expansion of the airport, which involves the construction of two new passenger terminals and an airport city project.
France’s Aeroports de Paris Ingenierie is to develop the masterplan for the 30-year expansion of Bahrain International (MEED 11:4:10).
